Android Reverse Tethering
1. What is "Tethering"?
Tethering means sharing the Internet connection of an Internet-capable mobile phone or internet tablet with other devices.
2. What is "Reverse Tethering"?
It is sharing the internet connection of a PC with your internet capable, but internet connection-less mobile phone.
Notes:
1. Procedures are to be used only with a rooted phone.
2. Tested with Samsung Galaxy Y, Android Version 2.3.6...
3. Needs a PC with internet connection.
4. For Windows only. Tested with Windows 7 Home Premium, 32bit.
PROCEDURE:
Kill all ADB Sessions before proceeding.
A. Installation
Unpack the zip file. This zip files contains the windows program, ADB and the android APK.
A.1 Android Part
A.1.1 Ensure you have Debugging enabled on your android phone. Check: Settings--> Applications --> Development --> USB Debugging
A.1.2. Ensure you have root access AND Superuser app installed. Change the superuser settings (Menu -> Preferences -> Notifications part) :
Uncheck "Notifications" label to display "Do not show notification when an app is granted Su Permissions"
A.1.3 Install Android APK "Tracetool service" (included in the ZIP file)
A.2 Windows part
A.2.1 Run Androidtool.exe. ADB is included with the ZIP file.
A.2.2 Select DNS server to use on the right list.
B. Start Reverse Tethering
B.1 Connect phone to PC via USB.
B.2 On your PC, click refresh devices. and click on the device that is detected.
B.3 Click Connect.
B.4 If this appears, tap on allow. If the android process crash after receiving superuser rights, close the windows program and start again.
B.5 Start browsing on your phone! You can also update your Antivirus if you want.
NOTE:
You cannot download apps on Play store (Market).
You cannot update phone software (firmware) with this method.

For those who are experiencing problems as connected but not able to surf, try to change DNS.
Kill all ADB Sessions before proceeding.
A.2.1 Run Androidtool.exe. ADB is included with the ZIP file.
A.2.2 Select DNS server to use on the right list.
B. Start Reverse Tethering
B.1 Connect phone to PC via USB.
B.2 On your PC, click refresh devices. and click on the device that is detected.
